Only happy when it rains….

So far this year it has been particularly dry in Melbourne.  Or rather it had been dry until yesterday when the rain started.  So far we’ve had about 40mm (our total this year is only just over 60mm) and the plants are looking pretty happy about it.

Why can’t we find a happy medium. It’s too wet to do any gardening here, though the sun is shining today so I’m hoping my soil will start to dry out.

I am happy about it too Liz, never thought I would get to a stage that rain would make me feel good inside and out.

Doesn’t it make you even more than ever aware how much we depend on water for our existence, let alone our well-being? Too much is bad; too little is bad; just enough is good, but rare!

I’ve got a few side-splitting toms as well, but boy that rain just soothed the soul didn’t it.

  8. Sometimes it can be too much of a good thing. Still, I’d glad you got some much needed precipitation!

I’m away on holidays and I just can’t wait to get back to my garden……….40mls is fantastic!!!
