Recipe Notes

  • The recipes on this site are designed to highlight an ingredient or ingredients that I have grown in my garden, they also include many ingredients that I am not able to grow or produce myself.  My current kitchen gardening focus is on flavour and enhancing my ability to produce great and highly nutritious meals rather than attempting backyard self sufficiency (at this stage…).   However I do try and include as many home growable ingredients as possible, for example lemon juice rather than vinegar in salad dressings, fresh chillies rather than powder in curries and so on.
  • All recipes serve 4 unless otherwise stated.
  • My recipes do not generally specify quantities of salt.  This is because all my recipes are suitable for and tested on my whole family and I don’t tend to add salt when cooking for the kids.  I do add salt to my own food and I find that dishes like the curries in particular do need it to really bring out the flavour of the spices.

Hey great site Liz! Great pics and I’m particularly happy to see the yummy quinoa salad recipe up there 🙂

Hi Joanna, I just love that salad too – we had it again this week – unfortunately a little boy loves to spray Quinoa everywhere so I am still trying to remove it from the corduroy covers of our dining chairs…..
