What the what! I had a look at my tomato plants earlier too – both are flowering and one already has a little tiny tomato growing! I know I planted them quite early, so I’m a little frightened that they will produce quickly and then die…
I wouldn’t worry Louise, just because they produce early it doesn’t always follow that they will die early. Tomatoes are perennial and it is usually either cold or disease that kills them. Producing early shouldn’t mean the cold gets them any earlier and if you look after your plants hopefully they will remain disease free. I wouldn’t worry and just enjoy what will hopefully be some lovely pre Christmas tomatoes.
We ate our last home-grown tomatoes of the year last week, so now it’s a long wait until the next lot. You must have planted yours well before Cup Day.
Thanks Leanne, although I would have liked a more uniform background – I think that’s one of the biggest things I need to focus on – not just what I’m taking the photo of but what’s in the background as well.

I am a rebel you know…..actually what with a warming climate and all that Cup Day seems a bit late in my garden….
